The Cambridge Encyclopedia describes utopia as "an imaginary (and by implication uattainable) state".The word 'utopia' is derived from Greek ou meaning a general negative and topos meaning place or region. There are several variations of the term, among them the 'eutopia' of Thomas More, who replaced the prefix ou (a general negative) with eu (a general positive), or the 'udepotia' (also Greek-derived) meaning neverland.
